RCMP seeking public's assistance in fraud case

RCMP are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect who allegedly opened a false bank account, obtained cheques and opened a cell phone plan.

COCHRANE—The Cochrane RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect after receiving a report of a large fraud that took place on Aug. 5.

A man in Sherbrook, Quebec used the complainant's name to open a false account and then transferred a substantial sum of money from the complainant’s real account.

The individual was also able to obtain cheques and a cell phone plan using the complainant’s details.
