The Town of Cochrane has so far received feedback from 11 residents with regards to the 2013 draft budget, and rising property taxes and the cost of fire protection are what they have voiced concern over.

“The feedback has been very detailed and shows a deep engagement with the process by these residents,” said town manager for financial services Erin Braaten. “All feedback received is forwarded to council for their review during the budget deliberations on Nov. 15, 16 and 17.”

Braaten said the town hopes to gather more opinions from the public in the coming days, and encourages those interested to email their thoughts to [email protected] or comment on the town’s website, cochrane.ca/budget. Budget deliberations take place at the RancheHouse in council chambers.
