Should you come face to face with a 12-foot-high barbed wire snowman decorated in holiday lights, make no mistake about it: his name is Rusty and he is to immediately be returned to Brooks Tower, or any other member of the Cochrane and Area Events Society (CAES).

“It’s not a joke,” said Tower, CAES member and director of Cochrane WinterFest, in a recent press release. “This mascot took a lot of work to put together. He’s a big part of WinterFest and we want him back.”

Cochrane Dodge, the official Rusty sponsor, is offering $200 for the safe return of the WinterFest mascot, who was stolen from the Cochrane Lions Rodeo Park.

WinterFest is a two-day annual Cochrane winter festival that serves to entertain children and celebrate community. This winter’s annual festivities take place Jan. 25-26, 2014; learn more at cochraneevents.ca.

Tower can be contacted at 403-542-5538.
