Beginning Wednesday (Sept. 15) Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park's east side, across the train tracks, will be closed for two weeks in an effort to protect its native grasslands after suffering from a period of extensive drought.
The Park will close the section to allow for the annual move of cattle which park officials will ensure disperse over a larger area than usual so that grasses can stay healthy for next year and to allow other park animals to forage over the winter.
