The stairs that lead to Cochrane’s Men of Vision statue will soon be given an upgrade.
The stairway, which is located at the Cochrane Ranche Historic site, will see the removal of existing timbers, railing and rocks, and a new wooden plank staircase, 100 metres long, with two lookout points will be constructed.
The upgrade is expected to take six to eight weeks, and a fenced-in construction site will be necessary during the operation.
Town administration has worked with Alberta Historic Resources to make sure that any work done on the Ranche site does not have any negative impact.
Construction is to begin between Oct. 16-17.
