At 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning (Dec. 29) Cochrane RCMP responded to a report of a deceased man found off a rural road near the Springbank Airport. Police believe the cause of death is suspicious and the Major Crimes Unit South has taken over the investigation.
Police and the Forensic Identification Section remain on the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Dec. 31 and investigators are working to confirm the identity of the deceased.
RCMP will provide an update following the results of the autopsy.
