The Town of Cochrane implemented a new organizational structure that will result in an estimated annual net savings of $60,000 based on the 2020-2022 proposed budget.

In a press release the town states the new structure will focus on strategic planning and decision-marking, while delivering high-quality services to the community. The change will also allow the town to promote a strategic, innovative organization while streamlining the customer service experience and reducing administrative delays associated with inter-departmental approvals.

Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Dave Devana initiated the restructuring with the support of town council. The senior management team has been reduced from six to four. The positions deputy CAO and senior manager of community services were eliminated. The senior leadership team will report directly to the CAO.

“Streamlining the management structure will result in organizational efficiencies required to respond to the needs of a growing community of nearly 30,000 residents,” said Devana.

“We would like to recognize the town employees and their families who have been impacted by this week’s restructuring.”
