STONEY NAKODA— Two people are facing drug trafficking charges after police stopped a vehicle and found suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine.

The Cochrane RCMP said they stopped a vehicle at the Centex Gas Bar on the Stoney Nakoda First Nation July 15 and searched the vehicle.

The search found 25.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 4.6 grams of suspected fentanyl and $1,645 in Canadian currency.

A 53-year-old man and 46-year-old woman – both from the Stoney Nakoda First Nation – were charged with drug possession with the intent of trafficking.

The two were released on bail with conditions and will appear in court at a later date.
