Cochrane spring sports registration

Winter sports are over and spring time is in full flight in the Town of Cochrane. There are many sports around town that can keep the kids busy throughout the spring and summer with registrations open for all activities.

Winter sports are over and spring time is in full flight in the Town of Cochrane. There are many sports around town that can keep the kids busy throughout the spring and summer with registrations open for all activities.

To kick it off, there are a few sports that have already opened their registration over the last few months. Cochrane Lions Minor Football has been open since March 1 but will go until all teams are filled. Each team can hold a maximum of 40 players per team with one PeeWee, one Bantam as well as the possibility of two Atom teams should enough players sign up. The Bow Valley Grizzlies Rugby Club also opened up their registration on March 23 with it staying open year round for kids of all ages. Registration information can be found at www.bowvalleyrugby.com.

Cochrane Minor Ball started registration on May 1 for those interested in minor summer baseball here in Cochrane. There will also be an information session at the Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre's multi-purpose room on May 5 at 6 p.m. For more information on registration visit www.cochraneminorball.ca.

Those interested in playing minor indoor soccer this season only have a few months left as registration for that closes on July 22. Recreational outdoor soccer registration begins in early August with the exact date still to be determined. Those interested can go to www.932kick.com.

Registration for the 2019-2020 Cochrane Kodiaks basketball season begins on June 1. Registration forms can be found at www.cochraneminorbasketball.com.

Cochrane BMX is also welcoming new members to their club and will also have a BMX Day in Cochrane on June 2 where newbies can come give the sport a try. More information about registration is at www.cochranebmx.com.

Last but no least is spring and summer hockey camps with P3 Sports Inc. There are plenty of camps, three-on-three tournaments and goalie training taking place in Cochrane and Calgary throughout the summer starting on Aug. 6.
