Team Alberta has won a bye to the U21 national curling semi-finals in Saskatoon, including Cochrane-area lead Julianna Mackenzie.
Mackenzie, 19, is a 2020 graduate of St. Timothy’s High School in Cochrane.
The women’s team from Alberta has been the only group to go undefeated this week, taking all five of their games, pushing them through to the semi-final game Friday (Nov. 26) at 5 p.m. Alberta will face New Brunswick in the semi-finals.To see a live stream of the games go to the Team Crough Facebook page.
Team Alberta won 5-1 against Saskatchewan, 8-4 against British Columbia, 9-6 versus Ontario, 9-5 when facing Prince Edward Island and had a close 8-7 defeat of Nova Scotia Wednesday night (Nov. 24).
If they win the semi-finals, the Alberta women's team will play in the finals on Saturday at 2 p.m.
The winner of the bonspiel in Saskatoon will qualify for the U21 World Championships.
