The St Timothy’s Thunder Track & Field competed at the Calgary Zone/City Championship on Saturday, May 25. The team saw some very stiff competition, but also saw some outstanding results. It was a banner day for Darci Petersen, the school’s standout rookie, who won both the 1,500m and 3,000m in the Junior Girls division, she will be contesting these events at ASAA Provincial Champs June 7 and 8 in Calgary; she will be a favourite for a medal in these contests. Eric Swedlo won a bronze medal in a hotly contested SB 800m field. And surprise jumper Mackenzie Rosebrugh placed fourth overall in the Intermediate Girls triple jump. Eric and Mackenzie will be alternates for provincials.
