The Cochrane Generals have forced a decisive Game 7 on Wednesday evening after defeating the Medicine Hat Cubs tonight by a score of 6-2 to even up their best-of-seven, Heritage Junior Hockey League (HJHL) second round playoff series at three games apiece.

After squeaking out a 3-2 overtime victory last night in Cochrane, thanks to a goal from captain Brandon Aab in the extra frame, the Gens hit the road to Medicine Hat looking to fight for their playoff lives. It was evident from the opening puck drop that they were a desperate team as they scored early and often. Cochrane got goals from Nick Koch, Caden Chudleigh, Chris Sambrook, Takuro Okada and River Ross in the first period that were responded by two goals in the second period by Medicine Hat. But it was too little too late as Cochrane had a cobra like grip on the lead, one they were not going to relinquish. There was a lot of rough stuff in the final frame leading to a late Generals power play that led to the game's final goal, off the stick of Chris Sambrook, his second of the evening.

Game 7 will take place at the Cochrane Arena on March 4 at 7:30 p.m. with the winner taking on the league leading Okotoks Bisons.
