With only one returning player from last year and a chunk of first year Bantams, the Bantam AA Bow Valley Timberwolves are kicking it into high gear early this season – coming away from a Thanksgiving weekend tourney with a bronze in the Camrose Viking Tournament.

The team came into a B side final against the home team Vikings and sealed a 4-1 victory with an empty net goal late in the third period.

Jett Haiuk was player of the game in the first 5-2 win over the St. Albert Bears that kicked off the weekend.

Evan Malcolm earned the honour after scoring a hat trick against the South Side Athletic Club Pro Hockey out of Edmonton in a tight loss on Saturday. Later that day, it was defenceman Zab de Guzman who demonstrated superb puck control in a 4-4 tie with the Sherwood Park Sabres.

What a great start and huge thanks to the entire team, coaching staff and volunteers.
