Cochrane curler Julianna MacKenzie and Team Crough earned its first win at the Alberta Scotties in Grand Prairie Tuesday.

“We had two tough games against Team Walker and Team Rocque but couldn’t pull out the win in either,” a post on the team’s Facebook page read.

But their fate changed with a 9-6 win against the Team Sturmay in an afternoon matchup.

As of Wednesday morning (Jan. 5), the team with local ties sits in fourth place in the eight-team draw, all vying for a spot in the national championships.

Team Rocque, Scheidegger and Walter are ahead of Team Crough, all undefeated.
