Cochrane steer-wrestler Tanner Milan is rounding into form with the meat of the season straight ahead. Milan took home just over $7,000 for winning the Daines Ranch Rodeo June 16 in Innisfail. Not bad for 4.1 seconds of work.

Cochrane's Neff wins 5 Peaks

Cochrane’s Calum Neff and Canmore’s Sara Hewitt pushed the pace to claim gold on a tough 5 Peaks trail running race June 8 at the Canmore Nordic Centre. The 500-plus runners were greeted with dry trails and sunny skies for a knee-pounding day.

Cochrane is sending two doubles tennis teams to the provincial 55-plus Summer Games next month in Barrhead and Westlock.

Local bantam lacrosse girls to play for Alberta

Taylor McElroy and Annie Morrison have both been selected to play for Team Alberta at the lacrosse national tournament in Halifax next month.

Brennan to play at U of Winnipeg

Bragg Creek’s Logan Brennan is headed to the University of Winnipeg in the fall to play volleyball. The 18-year-old Springbank Community High School grad started playing in Grade 6 at Banded Peak School.
