Toronto forward Pozuelo, Whitecaps assistant Sartini fined by MLS

NEW YORK — Toronto FC forward Alejandro Pozuelo and Vancouver Whitecaps FC assistant coach Vanni Sartini were issued undisclosed fines by Major League Soccer on Tuesday.

The league fined Pozuelo for failing to leave the field in a timely manner following his red card in Toronto's 3-0 loss to Real Salt Lake on Saturday.

Pozuelo received his second yellow card of the match in the 61st minute when he clipped Salt Lake's Sebastian Saucedo from behind.

Sartini was fined for entering the field of play in injury time of Vancouver's 1-1 draw with Sporting Kansas City on Saturday.

Three fines came from the New York Red Bulls' testy 1-0 win over Atlanta United on Sunday. New York defender Kemar Lawrence and forward Tom Barlow and Atlanta United forward Romario Williams were all found in violation of the league's policy regarding hands to the face, head or neck of an opponent stemming from a post-game confrontation.

Union midfielder Alejandro Bedoya was fined for simulation/embellishment for his actions in the 64th minute of Philadelphia's 0-0 draw with the Seattle Sounders.
