HADDEN, Alan

August 17, 1940 – Flimby, Cumbria, England

August 2, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Alan Hadden, beloved husband of Angela Hadden, of Cochrane, AB, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at the age of 79 years.

Alan was born in Flimby, Cumbria, England, on August 17, 1940. He moved to Fort McMurray, AB, Canada, in 1965 where he worked at Syncrude as a Production Planning Manager until 1996, when he retired and moved to Cochrane, AB, with his wife Angela who he married in 1982.

Alan accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of the time he scored a hole in one on hole 16 at the Water Valley Golf Course. Alan enjoyed spending his summers golfing with friends, going to Duck’s on the Roof every Thursday night for a steak sandwich, rugby and curling. He spent a lot of time with his family and enjoyed a weekly family dinner every Sunday. He went home to England every year to visit his son Jason, and grandson Jordan. Alan’s most memorable vacation was when he would go to Mazatlán, México, every year with his wife and great friends. You could always find Alan in the Cumbrian Arms with a cold brew in his hands and he had the best stories to tell!

He will be most remembered for his funny stories, being a great friend who was always willing to help others, and his love for his family. Alan was also president of the Syncrude Social for many years and he was loved by all.

Besides his loving wife Angela, Alan is survived by his son Jason, stepson Ricco (Melissa), and stepdaughter, Donnella (Jordan), his grandchildren, Jordan of Manchester, United Kingdom, and Taylor, Teran, Trystan, Dawson, Bretten, Alex, Gabby, Danika, and Braxton, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Alan was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Margaret Hadden, and his brothers, Jack and Joe.

Due to Covid-19, there will be no formal service at this time.

His ashes will be scattered by his family in a private setting on Monday, August 10, 2020. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Alan’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
