KLICS, Reg
December 7, 1954 – July 11, 2019

On July 11th, 2019, after a long journey with cancer,
Reg Klics passed from this life, to eternity in the loving
arms of his Savior Jesus Christ. He was at peace
and comforted by the love of his family; secure in
his Christian faith.
He leaves behind a family who love and miss him dearly. Reg was a loving
husband to his wife Betty, throughout 43 wonderful years of marriage. He
was a devoted father to his two sons, Steve (his wife Annick), and Rob.
His most cherished title was grandfather to Raynor, Cortana, and Ethan.
He is deeply cherished and missed by his mother Shirley, sister Terralin,
brother-in-law Myron and niece Deanna. He was predeceased by his
father Simon.
He will be greatly missed by many more family members and friends, all of
whom treasure the time they had with him, and the memories they will keep
forever.
Born and raised in Taber, Alberta, Reg spent a happy childhood hunting
gophers, learning guitar, rocking out, and making reasonable amounts of
mischief.
With his Computer Science degree from the U of A, Reg spent most of his
working life in technology at Chevron Canada Resources, where he filled
many roles and traveled far over an impressive 36 year career.
Reg had a love for (good) music, the outdoors, and time spent with his loved
ones (especially his grandchildren!). Together, we enjoyed many camping
trips, concerts, vacations in places near and far, and time spent puttering
around the back yard.
He had a calming presence, and was always ready with a joke or comment
to lighten the mood. He loved cats, never used 5 words when 4 would work,
and would rather fix it himself than buy a new one.
Reg had a deep Christian faith, and was passionate about his work on
church projects involving outreach and missions in Calgary (and supporting
missions around the world).
His memory with be cherished, and we will always treasure the love he
shared with all of us. We look forward to the day where we will see him
again, in paradise.
A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at St. Peter’s
Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Agape
Hospice or to Pastor Mike Kuhn of Lutheran Bible Translators Canada or
St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, for Missions.
Condolences may be left for the family at www.cochranecountryfuneralhome.
