Muriel 'Doreen' Bradshaw (Whittaker/Alexander) beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother & aunt, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2020. She was 89.
Born in Saskatchewan on June 7, 1931, the only daughter of the late Till & Eva (Dertell) Alexander & sister to 3 predeceased brothers, Percy, Harold & Kenn, & 1 surviving brother, Gerry. She married her late husband Gordon Whittaker & started their family while living in Bowness, AB & in 1964 they moved to Duncan on Vancouver Island BC where she stayed for the next 44 years. In 2008, she moved back to be close to family in Cochrane, Alberta & was there until her passing.
She leaves behind her dear brother Gerry, her 6 loving children Debbie, Dean (Shawnah), Dawn, Dayle (Audrey), Drew (Wanda) & Darrin, as well as 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren & many nieces and nephews. She was well loved by family & friends & will be greatly missed. Her spirit lives on in our hearts forever.
The family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to those that tirelessly & graciously cared for her at Points West Living care home in Cochrane for the past year, as well as the doctors & nurses that cared for her during her last week of her life in the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary.
Due to restrictions beyond our control, there will not be a funeral service at this time. A memorial service will be determined & announced for next summer, in Duncan BC.
