Transit takes giant leap forward with brand reveal at this weekend’s trade show

This weekend at the Cochrane Trade Show residents will get their first glimpse at our town’s new transit system.

This weekend at the Cochrane Trade Show residents will get their first glimpse at our town’s new transit system.

The council booth, located inside the Town of Cochrane pavilion, will spotlight the transit name and logo and will be a one stop location for finding out about everything transit in Cochrane. Residents will get to see what the brand and buses will look like, where the bus stop locations will be, get an update on the app and find out more about how on-demand transit will work in Cochrane. Members of council and staff will be on hand to answer questions about the service and there will be giveaways (while supplies last) and a draw for great prizes.

Cochrane residents have been talking about transit for nearly 10 years. After extensive community engagement, hours of in-depth discussion by several councils, we will see buses on our streets this fall. The long-awaited arrival of transit to our community has been driven by strong demand from residents, coupled with the availability of a provincial grant that makes it feasible to move forward.

I’d also like to invite you to visit the council booth to give your feedback on the Cochrane Community Vision — a vision to guide the community into the future. Our town and region has seen significant growth and we feel the vision will help guide us moving forward. A clear vision gives us a foundation to make community decisions and protect those things we cherish while creating our desired future. As our community and the region continue to evolve, it is increasingly important that we provide ongoing attention and stewardship to those things that matter most to us.

Other town departments are also participating at the Town of Cochrane Pavilion and staff are available to provide important information updates and answer residents’ questions. Find out about how to be FireSmart from the Cochrane Fire Service, how to better manage waste and recycling in your home, reduce water consumption, why joining Seniors on the Bow is a great way to stay active and connected, how the town is becoming more attractive to high-tech businesses by expanding its fibre network and much more. We’re also showcasing an exciting new tool to bring resident’s together with the Block Party in a Box initiative.

See you at the trade show!
