St. Mary’s Church Sacred Garden radiates Easter with 360 degree camera. Photo by Jay Wieliczko

This year’s Easter column was inspired by a photo taken by my neighbour Jay Wieliczko.

Jay used a 360 degree camera to photograph the Sacred Garden at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cochrane. As a result, the ground resembles a round ball like the Earth, the sky above is all-embracing, the sun shines from the upper left, and the shadow of the penitent thief’s cross humbles itself before the cross of Christ.

All I can add are lines from Handel’s Messiah:

I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he
shall stand at the latter day upon the earth.
....
For now is Christ risen from the dead,
the first fruits of them that sleep.

Hallelujah:
for the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth.
The kingdom of this world is become
the kingdom of our Lord,
and of His Christ;
and He shall reign for ever and ever.
King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.
HALLELUJAH!
