Cup is Boston's to lose

It is now finally the National Hockey League’s Stanley Cup. The two teams that made it are the Chicago Blackhawks and the Boston Bruins. Yeah, I was off on my predictions, but these teams deserved it.

It is now finally the National Hockey League’s Stanley Cup.

The two teams that made it are the Chicago Blackhawks and the Boston Bruins.

Yeah, I was off on my predictions, but these teams deserved it.

I kind of saw Boston beating Pittsburgh once the series got started because Boston was so dominant and goalie Tuukka Rask so good.

But Chicago was the President’s Trophy winner, so I should not have underestimated them. But I did, and they just outplayed the Los Angeles Kings in every way. Goalie Corey Crawford was better than Jonathan Quick. Patrick Sharp, Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews were that much better than Anze Kopitar, Jeff Carter and Brad Richards.

The Blackhawks played amazing in that series but not to their full potential. And I do not think they will ever be the best team that didn’t lose in regulation for 23 games. But they can play better than they are now, and you have to believe they can after what they’ve done this year.

On Boston’s side, I really like them now. They are so physical and big that if you are going to beat them by wearing them down you are going to get destroyed. And they have the skill and depth to back it up. For skill they have David Krejci; he has been a monster these playoffs, leading in points and just showing he is an elite playoff performer.

Second in scoring is Nathan Horton. He is just a Mack truck with amazing skills. Another player with the same characteristics is Milan Lucic, who is third in scoring.

Then they have an amazing goalie in Rask with 13 wins and two shutouts. He is top-five in every category. The Bruins also have the best fourth line in hockey, just look at game two: Chris Kelly, who has been on third and fourth line all year, finally scored, and Daniel Paille scored the game-winner.

I do think Boston will win the Cup in six or seven games because they are too big and durable for any team.
