What an honour it is to serve as one of your elected representatives on Cochrane’s Town Council and to have the privilege of helping shape Cochrane’s future by setting priorities.
But this privilege of setting priorities is not just for us as your elected officials. One of the major focuses of this town council has been public engagement.
Council would sincerely like and very much appreciate your input to the proposed set of priorities we have come up with for our future.
Dialogue through open-ended, curiosity-driven conversations and collaboration which respect the insights, experiences and expertise of the wider public will enrich the focus, clarity and relevance of our draft priorities.
Our goal is an open and transparent process about what we are proposing to spend your tax dollars on and why. Your input will help us facilitate the development of better policy that will enable better informed, better quality and more sustainable decisions. Enhancing our understanding of your interests, concerns, and priorities will increase communication, transparency and accountability, all in an effort to align our priorities with your priorities.
So let us know what you think about our draft priorities. All members of town council are available to you as is the town’s website and a public engagement session slated for Thursday April 4, 6 to 8 p.m., at the conveniently located Cochrane Alliance Church that has ample free parking.
