Re: "Collision with black bear orphans two cubs," article, Rocky View Weekly, Aug. 23

Dear editor,

The Aug. 23 newspaper article headline was "Collision with black bear orphans two cubs" but the reasons given fail to mention that this construction zone on Highway 22 is for building the Springbank Off-stream Reservoir (SR1).

Many animals who have roamed the area for years no longer have a habitat. Alberta Transportation is not providing any protection for these wild animals despite those precautions being requested in the hearings.

The area is becoming a desolate dirt hole. Please be extra careful driving in this area, so many deer have also died. They have only one voice fighting for them – Bragg Creek Wild.
