We seniors in Cochrane and surrounding areas have a mayor who has our back in Jeff Genung.  This pandemic has hit us seniors harder than any other age group but we are tough and resilient.

The Tri-Site new senior center is going to happen with community support.  It has many advantages including ground floor entry, no more stairs to the second floor and long hallways to navigate for our aging vulnerable seniors.  It will be close to all the downtown amenities including medical facilities, stores, banks, restaurants and transportation.

With additional space for a games room, it will host many activities designed for seniors to enjoy because it’s beneficial to be 50 years and older.  Popularity wise, it would also be beneficial to include simulated golf with the option of adding hockey, baseball, basketball and soccer, pool tables, skee-ball and basketball arcade games, shuffleboard, darts, card tables and big screen TVs with gaming consoles.  Our new center will create an atmosphere where seniors will look forward to congregating.  It will be a fun place to meet and socialize, form new friendships and build comradery.

The new senior center will benefit the whole community, so let’s get it done and support our mayor’s “INVITATIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT” on July 26 at Glen Eagles Golf Course because sooner or later we will all be seniors.
