The end of October brings the close of Cultures Days 2020 across Canada. Cochrane Culture Days, held September 12-13, was a tremendous success. At the Cochrane Movie House, superb locally produced films were enjoyed along with the feature, Secret Life of Pets, in the safety of socially distanced seating. So many performers filled our three outdoor stages with music and dancing, and presenters provided fascinating information about the local film industry. Visual artists opened their studios, provided art demonstrations to the public, and presented our very first sculpture garden. Cruise Cochrane added pizzazz with their drive by all venues.

Our diverse array of events awarded us a visit by the Honourable Leela Aheer, Minister of Culture, Multiculturalism and Status of Women. Thanks to Jola Muran, Town of Cochrane Arts and Culture, our online presence has continued nationally through October.

At this conclusion, we need to express our appreciation to all those who supported our wonderful celebration of arts in Cochrane. A host of volunteers made the event possible by setting up stages and sound equipment, photographing and videoing performances and posting online, and keeping everyone safe with social distancing and cleaning. The following provided the essential funding and expertise to make it happen. THANK YOU!!
