Letter: Wary of conservative 'Reformers'

Dear editor,

I think Albertans have learned a good lesson on why you should never support Reformers, like I was taught by the MLAs from the Peter Lougheed era. Lougheed's Energy Minister Bill Dickie was a brother in-law of one of my uncles.

They made it crystal clear that it was easy to tell the difference. A true conservative will collect proper royalties and taxes and run this province properly, like Lougheed and his MLAs did, and Alaska and Norway are doing. The Reformers will help their rich friends steal the people's oil and tax wealth in an effort to buy votes and force them into a lot more privatization, like Ralph Klein did and Jason Kenney is trying to do.

It's that easy to understand and maybe Albertans will follow it in the future. Not one single one of these Reformers has been smart enough to suggest that we should be following what Lougheed did, yet Rachael Notley did. That is why she was elected in 2015 and will be elected again, as the polls show.
