So do you think the experts that picked Detroit to win the World Series are the same ones that picked Wildrose to form the government?

And now do you wish they were right?

And how about the provincial Tories?

I watched question period the other day and in a word it’s embarrassing.

If question period is democracy at work we’re in a heap of trouble.

These birds couldn’t agree on the weather and they seem downright proud of their immature rudeness.

I know it’s politics but surely that doesn’t give elected members of the legislature the licence to act so childish.

If your kids or mine acted that way we’d give them a thumble pie and if you don’t know what that means ask your grandma.

The question was, has the provincial government agreed to give any money to the NHL Edmonton Oilers for a new arena? Simple enough you might think, but not in the legislature.

Government members talked about everything but the question, which they never did answer and even compared the Wildrose question to funding for an arena in Airdrie.

Lots of similarities there isn’t there?

Question period is simply disgusting.

These people do nothing more that cloud issues and it’s obvious to me their sole purpose in life is to get re-elected.

I would rather my kids grow up to be bank robbers rather than politicians because they would get more community respect.

Ironically, deservedly so.

Cochrane’s best kept secret is slowly but surely getting out.

It’s the Cochrane and District Community Foundation that does so much for our community.

Last Friday was its annual awareness banquet and guest speaker Barb Higgins did a great job.

Did you know that since it’s inception the Foundation has donated more than $600,000 to local groups and organizations?

Every year requests for financial help are received and every year the Foundation comes through, last year to the tune of more than $60,000.

After question period it’s comforting to know that there are people in this world who still care for others.

I can hardly wait for lunch, but more on that later.
