With one week left to buy tickets for St. Timothy School’s Dueling Pianos, those who want to attend better move quickly because tickets are selling fast.

“We decided this year that we ought to change it up a bit,” said organizer Del Edwards, also the chair of fundraising committee for St. Timothy Education Society.

“It’s a big thing to have taken on but we are optimistic. Everyone is coming in and they are thrilled we’ve changed it up.”

This year’s fundraising event for the St. Timothy School Education Society is featuring the World Famous Dueling Pianos, with a supper and cash bar.

Talking with organizers last week, 60 per cent of tickets for the Feb. 5 show at St. Timothy School were already sold out.

“We are hoping to sell all of the tickets (and) with the way tickets sales are going, I think we will,” Edwards said.

Previous years had 150-200 people attending the event. This year’s event is expecting 400 guests, with $15,000-$20,000 to be raised if all tickets sell.

“It’s an evening of fun music – these guys have performed in Las Vegas so they know what they are doing,” Edwards said. “Plus there are other fundraising opportunities throughout the evening.”

Guests will have to bid to get a song played and there will also be a live auction.

Monies from the fundraiser will go towards St. Timothy School’s information-technology (IT) equipment.

“The priorities of the school are to enhance the IT equipment and improve literacy,” Edwards explained.

Tickets for the event are $35 each or $250 for a table of eight. Tickets are available at St. Timothy School in advance. There will also be a cash bar and no minors allowed.

“It’ll be an evening of really good music, good fun and, apparently, they play absolutely everything,” Edwards exclaimed.

For more information go to St. Timothy School or call 403-500-2106.

Doors open at 6 p.m. for the Feb. 5 show at the school.
