The annual Stockmen’s Memorial Foundation dinner is all set to take place at the Cochrane RancheHouse Oct. 20, beginning at 5 p.m.

The hot-ticket, live auction item this year?

How about a palomino filly who goes by the name Cowboys Can’t Dance, donated by Don Copithorne.

“This is our largest annual fundraiser,” explained Jana Wilson, librarian at the Bert Sheppard Stockmen’s Foundation Library & Archives. “We’re hoping to raise $25,000 to go toward operations and ongoing programs.”

There are only a few tickets left, and the Foundation hopes to be a sell-out event with some 200 attendees again this year.

“A lot of people who come here are from families who’ve been here for 100 years,” said Wilson, commenting that the prime rib buffet dinner will be one for the books; for tickets, phone 403-932-3782.
