May 6-12 will see “Mental Health Awareness Week” grace our community.
Self-care and mindfulness will be on the menu at various venues in Cochrane – all while raising awareness for good mental health. Cochrane Family and Community Support Services (FCSS), along with local community partners, will be hosting a variety of unique events such as:
- Yoga & Connection
- Mindful Parenting
- Community Movie Night
- Rural Moms’ Night Out: Paint Night
- Play N’ Learn Preschool: All About Emotions
One in five Canadians face such challenges, so the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is striving to shift discrimination and viewpoints about mental health.
“Mental Health Week is a great opportunity to bring community together, build social connection and support mental well-being,” says Kim Krawec, Manager of FCSS. “With the help of our wonderful community partners we are able to offer an array of resources that Cochranites can continue to access all year round.”
