Support for SuperWalk

This year’s Parkinson Alberta Society SuperWalk Super-weekend, held Sept. 8-9 saw a tremendous amount of support from Cochrane and area participants. Cochranites held the SuperWalk on Sept.

This year’s Parkinson Alberta Society SuperWalk Super-weekend, held Sept. 8-9 saw a tremendous amount of support from Cochrane and area participants.

Cochranites held the SuperWalk on Sept. 9 at the Cochrane Ranche, with more than 70 people in attendance.

Together, Cochrane raised $21,000 to add to the Alberta total of more than $340,000.

“This is a great achievement for the Cochrane comm-unity...this is the most amount of money raised in Alberta through the SuperWalk to date,” said Aimee Newton, fund development and volunteer coordinator for Parkinson Alberta Society.

“Parkinson Alberta Society would like to thank the many volunteers, walkers, sponsors and supporters for this great success.”

The Cochrane businesses that supported this year’s SuperWalk include: IGA, Safeway, No Frills, Tim Hortons, Cochrane Fire Department, Cochrane Eagle, Cochrane Toyota, St. John’s Ambulance and Big Hill Lodge.
