Jean-Claude Bouchart, loving husband of Michèle Bouchart, passed away on July 3, 2023 at the age of 89 years.
Jean-Claude was born in Charleville on March 4, 1934, the son of Marcel and Madeleine Bouchart. He married the love of his life in 1963 and they were inseparable until her passing in 2014. Jean-Claude and Michèle moved to Canada in 1973 and fell in love with the beauty of the country. They built a loving home with their two children, Sophie, and François. Summers were spent hiking, canoeing, and camping, and skiing in the winters. He instilled a love of nature and active living in his children and grandchildren.
Jean-Claude lived life to the fullest traveling around the world with his wife at his side. Following the lead of Michèle, he jumped in with both feet into dancing, discovering a love of dance he never knew he had. In retirement, they would travel to Arizona to spend the winter dancing in the heat. Jean-Claude was an active member of the St Mary’s Catholic Parish with volunteering and giving at the core of his faith. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and community.
Jean-Claude is survived by his sister Geneviève Reimeringer; two children, Sophie (Douglas) Zawadski and François (Maureen) Bouchart; and six grandchildren, Eric (Cristina), Stephan, Dominique (Bryce), Christian (Miranda), Christine (Tylor) and Caitlin (Matthew). He was predeceased by his wife Michèle; sisters Mary-Laine and Micheline; and his sister-in-law Françoise Millet.
