CATHERINE DORIS McALLISTER

We are saddened to announce the passing of Catherine Doris McAllister at Bethany Care Facility in Cochrane, Alberta on 2023 at the age of 96 years.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Wendy (Brian) Muise and Sharon McAllister, and daughter-in-law Jeanne Cesar, grandchildren, Shannon (Darren) Berent, Tammy (Kevin) Pelonero, Trevor Muise, Mark (Ashley) Cesar, Jesse (Amanda) Cesar, Angela (Curtis) Nelson and 10 Great grandchildren.

Doris was born in Lethbridge, Alberta to Frank Allen and Edna Beatty on November 30, 1926. She attended school in Lethbridge and left home at an early age of 17 to work. She waitressed in Fort Macleod and worked at the Macleod Hospital before marrying Lloyd McAllister. Eventually they ended up on the McAllister farms south of Fort Macleod where they raised a family and farmed for 50 years. Needless to say it wasn’t easy at first for a city girl, but Mom eventually mastered it. As her Father and Brother (Robert) served in the wars she was very proud as she served as the Ladies Auxiliary President at the Fort Macleod Legion and Sergeant of Arms for a time. After Lloyd’s passing, she sold the farms, moved to Fort Macleod, Winfield, BC then finally to Cochrane where she happily lived her remaining years.. Doris was predeceased by her husband Lloyd in 2000 and siblings, Robert, Kenny and June Allen (Ober) and in 2021 by her son Leroy Frank Cesar.

A celebration of life will be held at Edens Funeral Home, 2424 - 5 Ave. Fort Macleod, AB on April 22, 2023 at 1:00 pm
