JOHN ARTHUR WILSON

It is with sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of John Arthur Wilson, he passed peacefully on December 11, 2022 at the age of 85.

He will be remembered by his loving children, Gary Wilson(Jackie), Shawn Wilson(Melanie), Dan Wilson(Jenny); step-children, Jodi, James and Kelly; grandchildren, Brittni(Jonathan), Riley, Cameron, Jack, Grey, Quinn, Lily, Brendalynn, Aria, Ceira and great grandchild, Weston.

John was predeceased by his wife Joey Hyde-Wilson who passed in September of 2021; parents, Martha and John Wilson; siblings, Joseph Wilson, Margaret Wilson and Helen Davison.

John was born in Belfast, Ireland. As a young lad he excelled at soccer, playing on a Church league they travelled by bus every week. He secured his fifteen minutes of fame by winning the Northern Ireland Lightweight Championship in 1948. He immigrated to Canada in 1957, on a trip back home to Ireland he met and married his first wife Brenda Wilson and were happily married for 24 years. John started his career in life insurance, but he was a serial entrepreneur managing to start and run many different businesses including; travel agency, drapery and window coverings and multiple trade shows. His trade show businesses took him to the Okanagan where he met his second wife Joey Hyde-Wilson, they were lovingly married for 26 years. John was a lifelong member of the Lions Club making many memories and sharing many laughs with his fellow members.

He will always be loved and remembered for his quick wit, sense of humor and his never quit attitude. May the luck of the Irish enfold you. May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you.
