Marilyn Whittle (Woods)

January 30, 1943-August 26, 2023

After a long and complex illness, on the morning of August 26, Marilyn left us to join the choir of angels. While we grieve this loss, we are grateful that she is no longer in pain.

Marilyn spent most of her life in Cochrane, where she met and married Ray, almost 62 years ago. She was actively involved in her church, PEO, and was often working on one of her beautiful quilts. Marilyn and Ray spent many wonderful months each year at their cottage in Clear Lake, Manitoba. Being at the cottage with friends brought Marilyn much joy.

Marilyn is survived by her husband Ray, daughters Lisa (Kevin) and Melanie (Paul), granddaughter Anna (Benjamin), sister Marsha (Errol) and sister-in-law Joan (Steve). Marilyn was fortunate to have many friends, all of whom she loved dearly.

We are grateful to the many medical staff who have helped Marilyn through the years, as well as the staff at Dulcina Hospice who assisted in making her final days peaceful. Ray, Lisa and Melanie would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to Marilyn’s sister Marsha for her years of kindness and support; Marilyn was blessed to have you in her life.

There will be a small family service. We know that Marilyn has many friends who would want to join in and celebrate her life and we ask that each of them celebrate her in their own way.
