OWEN, Lorrie Leona Irene

October 5, 1942 – September 8, 2023

Lorrie was born in Turner Valley, Alberta to Alvin and Lola Swanson.  She was one of four children, Bob Swanson (deceased), Shirley Legare (deceased) and Larry (Donna) Swanson of Chilliwack, BC.

Lorrie spent most of her life in Calgary. It was there that she met and married Robert (Robbie/Bob) Owen. They had two children, Michelle and Mike. She had one grandson, Zach. Lorrie was a working Mom and she worked hard in her positions. She was very personable, had a mathematical brain and could remember an amazing amount of information. Her longtime friend Norbert (Camilia) Hune can attest to this.  After her marriage ended in 1980 Lorrie and Michelle started travelling to places like Maui, Arizona, Las Vegas and the trip of all trips, New Zealand, Australia and the Cook Islands. Lorrie also loved to play Bingo and had a lifelong love of movies. In 2007 Lorrie and Michelle moved to Cochrane, where she resided until her passing.

There are numerous cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews, and friends who lives Lorrie’s kind heart touched. A special thank you to Helping Hands (Melia) of Cochrane for assisting Michelle with getting to/from the Foothills Hospital during this stressful time. Condolences and memories may be left for the family at www.cochranecountryfuneral.com

Mom, my best friend, I Love You and will miss you more than there are stars above. Rest now.
