Summer coming to an end, autumn excitement right around the corner

I hope everyone had a great summer and got out and enjoyed the many beautiful days we have had. It was once again a summer filled with fantastic community events.

I hope everyone had a great summer and got out and enjoyed the many beautiful days we have had. It was once again a summer filled with fantastic community events.

Special thanks are owed to the many volunteers in our community who are the backbone of these events.

Your involvement is what makes it possible to host the events that families and tourists alike look forward to.

The Cochrane Farmers’ Market every Saturday, as well as Cochrane Ranche Days, SummerFest, the Cochrane Labour Day Parade and the Cochrane Lions Labour Day Rodeo are just a few of the many excellent activities in our community every year.

I heard many positive comments from local residents and visitors to our community during those events and you all should be very proud of the work you do.

Cochrane continues to be a great place to live, work and play because of the many efforts made by our own citizens. I thank you for that.

On a final note, it’s back to school time, and I would ask that everyone be very mindful of our kids in and around school zones.

Council gets back to meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month and it is going to be a very busy fall. Everyone is always welcome to join us.

Doors Open Cochrane – On Sept. 26 and 27, the public is granted access – free of charge – to 17 local businesses and town sites for exclusive tours, events and insider information sessions.

Town council will be opening council chambers and the mayor’s office.

Sit in the mayor’s chair and peek inside the councillor’s meeting room. Visit cochrane.ca/DoorsOpen for a full list of participating sites.
