Meet Michael Curle, a man who turned his curiosity into a thriving business. After spending 13 years in the oilsands industry, he couldn't shake one question: "When I return a new product, what happens to it?" As fate would have it, when Michael started working from home, he found the time to explore this question further. What he discovered was a world of returned, overstocked, and refurbished merchandise just waiting for a second chance.

This revelation led to the birth of Retail Revolt, a one-stop shop for consumers to find amazing deals on these products. But for Curle, it's not just about being his own boss; it's about making a difference. With Retail Revolt, he's challenging consumer trends, helping people save money, and contributing to the eco-friendly reuse/recycle movement.

In his store you'll find incredible discounts on all kinds of items – from electronics to home goods, and everything in between. Goods are always at least 40 per cent below retail, and shoppers save even more on sale days or special events when goods are 50 to 60 per cent lower than what you would find in a big box store. Every item on the shelf is either overstock, up for liquation, or returned in new-like condition. So, each shopper gets an out-of-box item for an amazing price. There is no better way to save money when shopping for electronics, patio furniture, coffee makers, clothing, and so much more.

Although Retail Revolt only opened in 2022, it has been a runaway success. Shoppers flock to the store for deals. Curle has made those deals even more valuable – and accessible.

“In under a year we were able to make important changes for shoppers,” he smiles. “First, we expanded our retail space by taking over an adjacent bay. We have also arranged to bring in clothing from major retailers, and we are very excited to introduce stock from major retailers as well. This is all new in-the-box overstock, liquidated, or like-new customer returns. Nothing is broken or damaged.”

But that’s not all!

“We have recently introduced online shopping,” Curle adds, “so shoppers can get those great deals with even more convenience. There are well over 1,000 items to choose among, with more stock added frequently to the online shopping site.”

With customers pouring through the door daily to take advantage of deals on brand-name stock, Curle is expanding his brand from Spruce Grove to Edmonton. He’s on the hunt for an ideal location in the city, so stay tuned to Retail Revolt’s Facebook page to be the first to know when the Edmonton location is revealed.
