Quoting from The Cochrane Times, June 3rd: "Town Council approved a request from SLS Family Sports Centre for an additional $1.5 million to cover the
financial blow dealt by COVID-19 . The recreation centre is co-owned by The Town of Cochrane and Rocky View County, but operated by a seperate society overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors"
The Cochrane Eagle confirmed this funding in the June 4th paper. On the same page, the Eagle reported that Rocky View County are reporting a surplus of more than six million dollars from 2019, to be moved into the Tax Stabilization Reserve, to be accessed on a 'rainy day'.
My question is: If Rocky View County co-own the SLS Family Sports Centre, then why are they not contributing to the Sports Centre funding request?
