Alberta reports 40th COVID-19 related death

An additional death marks Alberta's 40th COVID-19 fatality.

ALBERTA- The province has reported the 40th COVID-19 related death.

A Saturday (April 11) press release reported 69 new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Alberta bringing the provincial total of COVID-19 patients to 1,569.

One person has died from the virus in the last 24 hours.

There have been 25 cases of the virus reported in Rocky View County, 17 of which have recovered.

In the Cochrane-Springbank region, there have been 13 cases reported. Nine of these patients have recovered.

There are now 774 reported recoveries from the virus in Alberta.

The province has strongly recommended Albertans stay home during the long weekend to prevent the spread of the virus.
