Wish I May Parties is a new start-up company that specializes in princess, prince, and superhero impersonators. Started by Katerina Iverson, the impersonators are for hire for birthday parties as well as community and special events.

“I had been working for another entertainment company for the past three years that ran out of Edmonton. So when I graduated university I wanted to try and do it on my own and see if I could run it myself,” Iverson explained.

Since opening in May 2016, Iverson said she’s already had an amazing response from the community. Though a few other impersonator companies currently operate out of Calgary, Iverson said it was important to her to start the company within Cochrane and appeal to local residents.

“The community has been beyond supportive and amazing to us. A lot of people have recognized me as someone who’s from Cochrane and they want to support me just because of that,” Iverson said.

“Being from Cochrane for so long, I have a lot of connections with families in the hockey community and the dance community and they all want to help out in some way, shape or form.”

Currently the company has eight princesses, one prince, Bat M, Spider M, a Fairy G, and Olaf the Snowman for hire.

Wish I May Parties will be holding a Grand Opening Royal Tea Party on July 24. Hosted at the Frank Wills Memorial Hall, the tea will run from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 per person in advance and $20 at the door, up to two parents per child are free.

Attendees can meet all company’s impersonators. Each princess will have a different stand enabling people to have a meet-and-greet and take photos with their princess of choice.

The event will also feature tea and other refreshments, treats, a craft table and princess-themed activities. Tickets can be purchased at Guys Café and Bakery, The Lost Sock Laundromat, and online at wishimayparties.com.

Wish I May Parties will also be hosting four week-long summer camps with its princesses this summer – Mermaid Camp, Dance with Belle Camp, Frozen Camp, and Art with Rapunzel Camp. Each camp will run Monday to Friday and will feature specific games, crafts and activities for each princess in attendance.

Registration is still open for all four camps through Wish I May Parties’ website.

Iverson anticipates growing her business and turning it into a full-time career.

“This is the best job that anybody could ask for. The kids make it so worth it because they love you, they think you’re a real princess and want to be around you and make you feel so special. It’s really fun, you’re always smiling and that transcends into your real life,” Iverson explained.
