The Cochrane Music Society (CMS) will be holding its annual Music of Christmas concert at Cochrane Alliance Church on Dec. 15.
“The mission of The Cochrane Music Society is to promote shared musical expression and cultural heritage by providing affordable, flexible, effective music education to adults in the community,” states the society’s website.
The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. and run until approximately 9 p.m. and will feature performances from Choral Waves, Riverside Jazz, and Band on the Bow, all ensembles run by CMS.
According to Lynn Neumann, advertising director with CMS, the show will feature “upbeat” and “religious” songs to “promote the Christmas spirit”.
“The music varies from classical to contemporary, from sacred to folk, from gospel to jazz, and is, of course, highlighted with Christmas tunes,” states the society’s website.
There is no set admission but donations will be accepted for the Cochrane Food Bank.
The society enjoys putting on these shows because “it’s something nice to share with the community” says Neumann.
