The annual dueling pianos event put on by the Rotary Club of Cochrane will be returning once again bringing Las Vegas to Cochrane.
The third annual ‘Dueling Pianos live from Las Vegas’ will take place Feb. 13 and 14 at the Royal Canadian Cochrane Legion and will feature Todd Dunnigan and Lark Knowles on the keys.
“It gives everyone a chance to come out and laugh and sing. It really is an entertaining evening. People tend to really get into it,” said Steve Cook, president of the Rotary Club of Cochrane.
Cook explained that the whole idea is that people will try and outbid each other to play the song they requested.
It isn’t the two piano players dueling, but rather the ‘crowd taking the show in a different direction with a new song.’
All of the money raised from tickets and the audience bids will go back into the community through a number of projects that the Rotary Club of Cochrane are involved in.
Cook mentioned projects such as the football field and the Youth Talent Festival.
“We make sure the money goes back into the community where the community needs attention,” he said.
Last year, Cook said they raised over $12,000 at the event that was held at Ducks on the Roof.
There will also be door prizes including two Calgary Flames hockey tickets and two $50 gift certificates to Cochrane’s Portifino Italian Ristorante.
Tickets are $40 in advanced and $50 at the door, and Cook warned they would sell out fast.
