Half Hitch Brewing Company will feature a slew of local talent coming to Cochrane over the remainder of February and into March, beginning tonight with Anna Lewis.

Lewis is a country music singer/songwriter from Calgary. Since the age of 16, the songstress has found her love in music in ways she never thought possible. Over the years, she has taken interest in talent showcases and expanding her musical abilities. Recently, she has taken to playing in local cafes and breweries,  furthering her love of audience engagement with original tunes and cover songs.

As she looks forward to advancing her songwriting skills, Lewis is planning to release a single in the coming months.

Mark Andrew Spencer

Mark Andrew Spencer is the next act to take the Half Hitch stage on Feb. 21. Spencer is a Calgary-based composer and musician. Motivated by a desire to bring innovative ideas to life, Spencer channels those ideas through the creativity of music. Whether they manifest themselves through moving pictures or the lyrics of a song, he fleshes out those powerful emotions through music.

For Spencer, music is remarkably effective at expanding the feelings trapped in fleeting moments. It breathes the full potential of life into them.

Michela Sheedy

If you are looking for soulful, sultry, country music; look no further. Okotoks-born and raised, Michela Sheedy represents a steely edge to the Canadian country music scene, coming to Half Hitch on March 7.

Sheedy has graced some of the most esteemed country stages in Alberta including performances at the legendary Ranchman's, Cowboy's Nightclub, Big Valley Jamboree, Country Thunder and the Coca-Cola Stage at the Calgary Stampede.

In the summer of 2017, Sheedy was titled winner of 96.5 CKFM Country Star Search and recently won the grand prize in the 2018 Global Country Star Search. She has been a finalist in a plethora of Alberta talent competitions including: Calgary Stampede Talent Search, Ponoka Stampede Talent Search, Nashville North Star Competition and Country 105's Rising Star Competition. Recently, she has been named a top 12 finalist in Calgary's Project WILD - Country Artist Development Program.

Sheedy makes her community a priority. You can find her frequenting local foothills' country music station, 99.7 Sun Country. She regularly – and proudly – represents the NHL and the Calgary Flames as a performer of the Canadian and American national anthems and she contributes to fundraising efforts for Calgary-based charities including Gems for Gems and the Alberta Music Education Fund.

She released her debut single I Make Bad Look Good in the summer of 2018. This refreshingly gritty song packs a punch and brings something new to the female country sound. Along with co-writers Chard Morrison and Scott MacKay, the decision was made to write uninhibited to create an anthem for those who refuse to conform. It was recorded at Evergreen Sound with producer Mark Troyer and an award-winning lineup of musicians including Matty McKay, Mitch Jay, Justin Kudding and Spencer Cheyne. Featured on the song is Clayton Bellamy of The Road Hammers. Michela's single made it to number 47 on the iTunes Country Charts and has been released to radio expecting to pick up significant traction with fans across the country.

All three Half Hitch concerts are free to attend.
