In the market for Christmas presents?

Now that the Halloween decorations are packed away, it’s time to start planning for the most wonderful time of the year – and area groups are gearing up to get into the spirit of the season. On Nov.

Now that the Halloween decorations are packed away, it’s time to start planning for the most wonderful time of the year – and area groups are gearing up to get into the spirit of the season.

On Nov. 5 and 6, the Springbank Creative Arts Club will host its annual Christmas Market at the Springbank Community High School gymnasium. Saturday’s showcase runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., while Sunday’s hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free both days.

Next weekend, on Nov. 12, Cochrane’s local artisans host their market at Frank Wills Memorial Hall, where they boast one-of-a-kind gift ideas, warm cookies and a book signing by local author Lisa Elle.

The Cochrane Lioness Christmas Craft Market fills the St. Andrew’s United Church from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday Nov. 19. Admission is $2. The same day, the Beaupre Community Christmas Craft Sale will show off their wintry wares, with free entry from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In the evening on Nov. 19, Cochrane Light Up officially kicks off the town’s festive season from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with hayrides, carolers, ice carvings, hot chocolate and more, all along First Street in Historic Downtown. Monetary and food bank donations are gratefully accepted.

Finally, on Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Cochrane RancheHouse will transform into a jolly holiday revelry, where more than 70 vendors will sell their crafts, jewelry, photography and decorations.
