Local musician KT Calcutt will be strutting his stuff and playing some tunes at Half Hitch Brewing Company on Dec. 5 as well as the Cumbrian Arms Pub on Dec. 21.

KT Calcutt is a solo musician that performs all genres of music from yesterday to today such as Tom Petty, Elvis, Bruce Springsteen, INXS, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, The Lumineers and many more. Calcutt delivers a high energy set of favourites to ensure the audience keeps their toes tappin'. KT uses a PA System that is suitable for venues up to 150 people and also plays outside. Calcutt loves to perform at special events such as weddings, grand openings, in addition to coffee houses, pubs and small bars. A mix of electric guitar and acoustic guitar keeps Calcutt's performances engaging. His songs are suitable for all venues and for all ages.

"I think the excitement level of the two upcoming shows is quite high. I am a local resident of Cochrane and I perform most of my shows in the town of Cochrane. Cochrane, for a small town, has an amazing music scene with many excellent musicians so I feel blessed to play in some of our local establishments. Regarding atmosphere, I play all genres of music from oldies originating from the 60's to todays modern hits," Calcutt said.

"I like to play music that will allow the audience to take a step down memory lane with my songs. I like to mix up my performance so I will play a set of music with an electric guitar and then use an acoustic guitar," he said. Calcutt isn't a stranger to the community. He's played during the Beer Den's grand opening, various gigs at Cumbrian Arms Pub and at open mics at the Venue Bar and Grill.

"(I'm) very excited to have a few gigs scheduled in December before Christmas as it will be a great time for folks to come out and enjoy some live music."

Calcutt's show on Dec. 5 will begin at 7 p.m. while his show on the 21 will begin at 8 p.m.
