T. Buckley opening for 100 Mile House at Bragg Creek

100 Mile House will be returning to Bragg Creek, with a new opener.

On Nov. 21 the folk band 100 Mile House and T. Buckley will play Redwood House as part of the Bragg Creek Performing Arts 35th season.

The Edmonton-based husband and wife duo, Peter Stone and Denise MacKay, have been working on their new album, set to release in 2015. They will be playing award-winning tracks from their latest album, Wait With Me.

Their music has been described as an unique brand of transatlantic folk with “beautiful harmonies, rich arrangements and captivating lyrics have made their sound truly distinctive, ” - 100 Mile House website.

Their new opener T. Buckley is winner of the 2010 Calgary Folk Music Festival Songwriting competition.

The Calgary trio has been described as delivering “soulful laments and gritty truths, wrapped in a cowboy blankets to create a distinct western Canadian flavour, ” - T. Buckley website.

100 Mile House will be bringing their four-piece ensemble, including Scott Zubot on violin and Andrea Case on cello, to Bragg Creek.

The latest 100 Mile House album was nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award (WCMA), won two Edmonton Music Awards and has been played across the world, including the BBC in the UK. Their song “London ” won Calgary Folk Festival songwriting contest - the second time the band has won the award.

And the band has played venues such as Vancouver Folk Music Festival, Edmonton Folk Music Festival, Calgary Folk Festival, Canmore Folk Festival, Vancouver Island Musicfest and Calgary Folk Club.

The Bragg Creek Redwood House will host 100 Mile House and opener T. Buckley on Nov. 21 with doors open at 7 p.m. and concert to start at 7:45 p.m. Tickets are $29 for adults and $27 for youths between the ages of 7 - 17.
