Calgary’s T. Buckley Trio will be the first band to perform live in the renovated coffee shop, formerly known as Legacy.

Heritage House Coffee Co. will be hosting the T. Buckley Trio this Saturday, March 12 with doors open at 7 p.m.

“I’ve always enjoyed playing there – it is one of our favourite venues to play in southern Alberta,” Tim Buckley said during a phone interview.

The band performed several times in Cochrane while the café was under the old ownership, usually to a sold-out show. The Calgarian trio has been in the music scene for the past six years playing a twist of “a little bit of country and a little bit of rock and roll.”

The band has played on stages and festivals across Alberta, including the Calgary Folk Festival and the Canmore Folk Festival. Their latest CD Nowhere Fast came out last fall and the band promised they would be bringing some of their new songs to the stage.

“Hopefully people come out and buy tickets and we have a pretty engaging show – we are excited to come back,” Buckley said.
