So you think you can dance?

How about sing? Paint? Perform a short scene?

Registration is officially open for the 2016 Cochrane Rotary Youth Talent Festival – and kids who have a passion for different artistic endeavors are encouraged to sign up and take part in the friendly competition with their peers.

Youth ages six to 18 can choose from a number of categories to participate in, including vocal, instrumental, musical theatre, speech, band and composition. Organizers added a visual arts category last year, and re-introduced dance as well.

This year’s festival runs from Nov. 13 to 16 at Cochrane Toyota. Kids with top marks will take the stage at the grand finale at Rock Pointe Church on Nov. 18.

Youth can register online at cochraneyouthtalent.ca from now until Nov. 1.

If being a star behind the scenes is more appealing, Rotary is also looking for volunteer greeters, door monitors, decorators and adjudication assistants, among other jobs.
